My works

Sub: concious, liminal, merged

I'm trying to give expression to the hidden or more subtle layers of reality. I try to get to this through working on intuition, because I believe that when you allow your impulses and feelings to guide the creative process, you give these layers of reality a chance to emerge from the unconscious and reveal themselves as they are.

What reveals itself, I understand as a kind of collage of dreams and unspoken truths, and I try to express these through the symbols that make up my sculptures.

Living Tokens

My work "Living Tokens" is about investigating the interplay between time and identity, reflecting on how the artifacts we create and love carry the stories of our lives, both past and present.

I believe that all crafted objects are embodiments of our needs and desires. The pieces I create are designed to be carried and worn; they exist as personal adornments but also function as tools for everyday life, where decoration and practicality intertwine. They remind of our primitive nature and desires, which is often forgotten because it is hidden behind a modern facade.

My objects act as riddles, inviting exploration of our collective experiences across time. They echo the ceremonies of the past we still partake in today, posing with the question: "what is the essence of being human?"

Exploded views

A triptych under the title Exploded Views

An exploded view is a type of drawing, diagram, or 3D illustration that shows the components of an object slightly separated from each other, as if the object has been "exploded" outward. It's often used in engineering, product design, manuals, and technical drawings.

Memorial sculpture

Made for the memorial-course at HDK - metal art. (BA1)

This sculpture is meant to be used as a shrine for contemplating life's mysteries. It's important that we search for our own understanding of life and death.

"Why is there anything, and what will become of it all?"

The stone symbolizes the material world which all matter is bound to, it is shaped like an altar, presenting a form with embryonic or shell-like anatomy, frozen like a fossil.
I have based this shape on the golden spiral, this can be drawn from the Fibonacci sequence, which is a fractal pattern that is often found in nature.
This spiraling in both directions symbolizes time and motion.

Following the spiral, the shell is released from matter, forming a pillar of energy that's turning into a sphere. A perfect sphere is the form with the least surface area for a given volume. It is only what's necessary and it looks the same from all directions. It symbolizes the idea of Truth.

"We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time."

- T. S. Eliot
